This is part one of a three part series of which we are exploring how to become an influential visionary leader.
If you wish to read a summary of tips, go to this blog here.

To become an influential Conscious Leader who actually realises their big vision, you need to make a change.
No I'm not talking about taking action to change the environment to make your vision come true. I'm talking about making the change from the inside out.
The personal work.
So many leaders shy away from doing the inner work, because, to be fair, it's uncomfortable. It presses upon the fragile ego that doesn't love to be challenged and prefers comfort over discomfort.
But it's imperative if you desire to grow as a Conscious Leader who creates positive transformative spaces in your place of work.
In this blog we aren't going to talk about all the personal work that you could do - each person's personal development is just that - personal. It is unique to them. There are so many areas that we could cover.
For now we are going to cover what I consider to be the single most important aspect of personal development that you can do, to become that leader who fulfils their dreams.
And that is: You need to become the type of person who has already created your vision.
You need to become the type of person who has already created your vision.
What do you mean by that Nik? Well if you are not already seeing the vision you have unfold (which I'm assuming you aren't because you're reading this!) that means that you haven't yet become the person you need to become - the one who makes their vision a reality.
Who you are now is the visionary - the person who sees that a change needs to occur. But it's not enough - you need to evolve and develop and become the person who actually inspires, motivates and facilitates change.
As a leader
You need to change who you are to create something different.
Remember that saying by Albert Einstein 'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' Don't be the leader who wants change, but is unwilling to change themselves in order to get it.
Part of who you are as a leader is being the inspirational, motivational and driving force for change.
But are you being enough of that person and are you being that in the right way?
When I say "Become the type of person who creates your vision", I'm really asking you to enquire "Who am I NOT being that is holding me back from creating my vision?"
Who am I NOT being that is holding me back from creating my vision?"
You want to find out your own gaps, misalignments and weaknesses in you, as a leader, as a person, that is stopping the change you wish to make. I want you to pinpoint the characteristics you need to develop in order to succeed in making your vision a reality!
Your energy, mindset and behaviour need to be in congruency with the vision itself - so before doing anything, get clear on what exactly you want to create. And from here you can define this into sets of energy, thoughts and behaviours that support or display this vision.
And your energy, mindset and behaviour being in congruency with the vision itself, should be in alignment with each other. That is, if you read over what you've written under your energy, mindset and actions of the visionary leader you desire to be, you should find that they support one another.
Your energy, mindset and behaviour need to be in congruency with the vision itself
This is what I mean by becoming the visionary leader you need to be. It's an identity shift. It's a move from being a leader who dreams, to being the leader who creates their dreams.
So which one are you being right now?
